Sustainable Spring! Our tips to make more impact with little efforts

At CHF caring about the planet and environment is part of our daily job. To make the world a little greener everyday, we hope that you as well will help us getting this world greener by making small efforts. This spring, let's take small steps towards a more sustainable future. By implementing these simple tips into our daily lives, we can make a positive impact on the environment and inspire others to do the same. Together, we can create a greener, healthier planet for future generations to enjoy.

Support local farmers

Visit your local farmers market to source seasonal produce. By buying locally, you're supporting small-scale farmers and reducing the carbon emissions associated with transporting food over long distances. Plus, the fruits and vegetables are often fresher and tastier. In every city CHF is located in, there are markets on the weekends;

At the ‘Noordermarkt’ in Amsterdam you can buy local products like honey, bread, jam, cheese and also nonfood products. Strolling around the Noordermarkt will give you the ultimate Amsterdam experience! In Rotterdam you can buy your local greens at the ‘markt Afrikaanderplein’. Our The Hague residents can indulge themselves! With more than 500 stalls the ‘Haagse markt’ is one of the biggest indoor markets of Europa. You can find fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, meat but also nonfood things like clothes, shoes, electronics and computer gadgets. For our Eindhoven residents: take a stroll into the city center and discover the abundance of fresh products available at the Eindhoven markets every day! On Saturday, during the whole day, you can eat your heart out at the ‘Woenselse Markt’!

Conserve water

As the weather warms up, it's tempting to use more water for outside activities. It's important to be mindful of water usage and conserve wherever possible. Some ways to reduce your water consumption include taking shorter showers and ensuring full loads in both washers and dishwashers to maximize water and energy efficiency.

Biking and public transport

In all the cities where CHF operates, public transportation is highly efficient. Plus, we're in the Netherlands, a country with twice as many bicycles as people! All the cities where CHF has properties boast excellent biking infrastructure, making it easy to get around on your two wheeler!—it’s great for your health and for the planet!
